1. Nature of the service
CompoundSimulator.com is an educational and informational website offering an indicative compound interest calculator. The results provided by the tool are mathematical estimates based on user-entered parameters and do not constitute financial, tax, or investment advice.
The site does not require user registration and does not sell products or services. Personal data is only collected when you voluntarily use the contact form.
2. Data processed
This website collects personal data only through the voluntary contact form, which may optionally include your name and email address. Providing this data is completely optional and is used solely to respond to your message.
As with any web server, technical access data may be automatically logged, such as:
- Visitor IP address (in no case linked to personal data).
- Date and time of access.
- Pages requested and server response code.
- Browser type and operating system used.
These technical data, if logged, are processed solely for security and server maintenance purposes, without cross-referencing with any identifiable personal data, and are retained for the minimum time necessary.
3. Local storage (localStorage)
The calculator allows you to save simulations on your own device using the browser's localStorage technology. This functionality works as follows:
- Your saved simulation data (numerical parameters such as initial capital, contribution, return, years, etc., and the name you assign to each simulation) are stored only in your browser.
- This data is not sent to any external server and is not accessible by any third party.
- It remains on your device until you delete it yourself, either from the calculator interface or by clearing site data in your browser's privacy settings.
Additionally, your interface preferences (light/dark theme, language, and currency) are saved in localStorage. These contain no personal information of any kind.
4. Cookies
This website does not use cookies of any kind: not first-party tracking cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies.
Interface preferences (such as light/dark mode) are managed via localStorage, which is not a cookie and does not require consent under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) or Law 34/2002 (LSSI).
5. Legal basis for processing
To the extent that technical navigation data (such as server access logs) are processed, the legal basis is legitimate interest in ensuring the security and proper functioning of the service, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
For contact form submissions, the legal basis is consent, given voluntarily when the form is sent. For server access logs, the basis is legitimate interest in security and maintenance.
6. International transfers
No personal data are transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If the website hosting provider is located outside the EEA, that provider acts as a data processor under adequate safeguards required by the GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission).
7. User rights
Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), users have the following rights regarding the processing of their data:
- Access: to know what personal data is being processed.
- Rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: to request deletion of data when it is no longer necessary.
- Objection: to object to processing in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: to request that processing be restricted in certain cases.
- Portability: to receive data in a structured, commonly used format.
To exercise your rights regarding data submitted via the contact form, use the Contact page. For data held by Formspree, you may also contact them directly via their privacy policy.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if you believe that the processing of your data does not comply with applicable regulations.
8. Security
Reasonable technical measures are applied to protect the site against unauthorised access or alterations. However, no Internet transmission system is completely secure, so absolute security of communications cannot be guaranteed.
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time to reflect changes in applicable regulations or in the functioning of the service. The date of last update is indicated at the top of the document. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
10. Applicable law
This policy is governed by European and Spanish data protection regulations, in particular:
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR).
- Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD).
